This is a special edition book that SRAM commissioned Misspent Summers to do about their company while they were in the final year of their Eagle Transmission development and launch.
It’s a book about Eagle Transmission, but it’s more than that. It’s a cross-section of a brand, the bike industry, and how a product goes from concept to launch.
We think it’ll be of interest to anyone who loves bikes, especially if you work in a bike shop or bike brand or run your own business.
As it was a commission, we had a budget to spend on creating and printing, meaning that anyone buying a copy gets a lot of book for their money as the original commission offset the total project costs.
It’s also a beautiful object in itself, with six different paper types throughout the book, high quality print and a lovely soft-touch cover finish.
The Radavist put it best (thank you) when they reviewed the book, saying it will ‘make you fall in love with the bike industry again … It’s a type of storytelling that almost feels like a magic trick.’ – probably the most flattering thing we’ve ever had written about one of our products. Why buy from Misspent Summers
Misspent Summers is an independent company run by passionate mountain bikers. You may think it is a small organisation, but it’s probably much smaller than you think. That’s why every single purchase makes a big difference and helps us keep the lights on, doing our work recording the history of mountain biking and hopefully inspiring people to ride more bikes.
