What a season

The 2025 downhill season was one of the busiest ever, with ten World Cup races across Europe and North America, plus the World Championships on downhill’s most infamous track. What a fantastic season it was, with several new World Cup winners across the elite categories and the return of superstar Jackson Goldstone from injury to race-winning pace.

Gracey Hemstreet took her first World Cup win by a massive margin; Rónán Dunne mastered the mud to win big in Les Gets. Nina Hoffmann was ejected over Leogang’s huge wallride then won in La Thuile; Marine Cabirou broke her back but returned to take her second win. Tahnée Seagrave was at her very best and took three wins; Amaury Pierron conquered his demons to win in Lenzerheide. Luke Meier-Smith won in Lake Placid; his brother was fined for rushing the finish arena.

Vali Höll won the series with a round to spare and took her fourth World Championships in a row. Loic Bruni kept Goldstone in check, fighting for the title right down to the last run of the series, which, in an unexpected twist of events, he didn’t show up for.

If there was a mic drop on the season, it came from the young guns, with junior men and women challenging elite times throughout the season, right down to the last race in Mont-Sainte-Anne where the fastest time of the week was by a junior.

The whole story is packed into the 260 pages of this ninth and latest edition of Hurly Burly, the downhill mountain bike yearbook.

Why we make mountain bike books

Misspent Summers has been making the mountain bike books since 2016. We started this company because, as fans of the sport, we wanted to record the history of mountain biking in a permanent format. Since then, we have produced dozens of high-quality coffee table mountain bike books that cover racing, riding and brand stories. Our books live on the bookshelves and tables of mountain biking’s biggest fans, as well as in bike shops and businesses the world over.
