We are over the moon to launch EP3, the third issue of our Misspent Summers x Downtime Podcast print collaboration.
This one took us a long while to put together, but we’re proud of the result.
Flicking through EP3’s 162 beautiful pages reminds us of the depth of contributions and the sheer talent of the people we are lucky to work with.
This issue’s features dive deep into tech with Dan Roberts’ ‘Balance’ feature; venture far out in Norway searching for WW2 relics in Pete Scullion’s ‘Sinking Tirpitz’; ponder concussion protocol and safety in Daisy Maddinson’s ‘Food for Thought’ piece; and we remember the greatly missed Rab Wardell in a photo essay introduced by Stu Thomson.
Elsewhere in EP3, we hear Pivot Factory Racing’s Morgane Charre’s thoughts on the new MTB World Cup organiser and broadcaster; we hear from Martin Whiteley about his vast experience running high-profile teams and events; and Myriam Nicole recounts her start in downhill racing and struggles with injury.
Our regular slots include columns from the likes of Anka Martin and Guy Kesteven, industry pondering in Sandy Plenty’s ‘So Stocked’ article about the current panic among bike brands and shops, and much, much more.
It’s a varied issue full of beautiful design, illustrations, photography and writing.
We hope you’ll enjoy every page of it.

New subs area
We’ve just opened a new online area for our EP subscribers where you can find digital eBook copies of every issue (useful for phone reading during the commute), exclusive products, heavily discounted Misspent Summers merchandise and free downloads. If you subscribe, check your inbox for a newsletter linking you to the new area or get in touch if you can’t find it.
New cover format
We’ve changed the cover format slightly for EP3 after some pondering of the separate cover wrap that we used for EP1 and EP2. Now, we’ve gone for full-size image, cover lines and a special soft-touch finish. We are delighted with the result – it’s punchier, it allows us greater freedom in image selection, and it is easier to pick up and flick through the pages. The inside pages are still packed full of the same beautiful layouts, images and illustrations.
